Remembering Betsy ~ Part One from Heartspun Quilts ~ Pam Buda

Welcome to part one of Remembering Betsy.  We begin making our Churn Dash blocks.  Follow along in the pattern and make all of your Half Square Triangles from the four different Churn Dash fabrics.  Trim them to the size indicated in the pattern.

Next, make the Two-patch units for the Churn Dash blocks.

Arrange (4) Half Square Triangles, (4) Two-patch units (all of matching blue print) and a center square.  Sew together into rows; press.  Sew rows together; press.

Repeat to make (4) assorted Churn Dash blocks.

I absolutely LOVE Churn Dash blocks....the smaller, the better!

Teeny Tiny Garden Basket ~ Part Three from Heartspun Quilts ~ Pam Buda

We're close to being done with our sweet Garden Basket quilt.

This is the first design I played with trying to keep the quilt tiny.  It's not bad at all, and borders can be added, but it just wasn't what I envisioned.  My designer instincts were telling me to go another way.  So, I added the scrappy border which I do love.  I used ...

In my first Teeny Tiny quilt instructions, I wrote that when we first begin to learn piecing, we struggle with piecing large pieces.  As time and practice hours go by, we get better and better.  Once that 1/4 seam is mastered, there is nothing we can't do!  But, still....many of us remain intimidated by tiny pieces thinking there's no way we can do that.  Oh, but aren't those tiny pieces and blocks just the cutest?

The ...

Teeny Tiny Garden Basket ~ Reveal! from Heartspun Quilts ~ Pam Buda

Welcome to my new Teeny Tiny Quilt Club project called...

Garden Basket

Teeny Tiny Garden Basket is our next project.  The truth is, I love, love, love basket blocks and have wanted to make a basket with an applique handle for a long time.  While it is my intention that the projects for this club be very small, this one grew to 12 inches square.  Yes, small but not teeny tiny.  The basket block is perfect for spring, and I didn't have another project for spring ready to go, so I took creative license, and went ahead anyway.

While ...
